If there is one thing I can give Paris Hilton credit for, then it would be for her ALWAYS having the latest and greatest hair style before anyone else. So sadly, I tend to look to her when I feel like my haircut is becoming fad because everyone (including all the soccer moms) are now sporting it.
My hairstylist friend Jeff has been telling me for at least a month now, "Do an a-symmetrical cut - I'm telling you it's going to be so hot soon." I didn't believe him until I saw it on Paris! I'm pretty sure she accomplished it with the help of a weave (which I would need to do since my hair is super short right now), but I'm just wondering what people think of this a-symmetrical look? Seeing it in action, I think it looks pretty awesome, but I wonder if I'll get crazy stares if I try it on myself!
I didn't know what I was going to wear to Wicked up until today. I dusted off my little black dress and found a fabulous green shawl at Macy's to give me that Ozian look. Getting ready for a dress up day always puts a smile on my face. :)

Yes, I am one of those silly people who loves their little dog. I mean, they are so cute and spunky and they are like little babies that never grow up. Well, much to my delight, last night's PR challenge was for the designers to come up with outfits for both their models and a small dog! (Because apparently dogs are a fashion accessory?) I don't normally dress up my dog, but I do put her in sweaters during the winter because she gets cold. I also like to browse the doggie clothes section at Target or the pet store just to see what I might make her wear.
So anyway, the challenge started out with Tim Gunn walking a dozen little pups into Central Park for the designers to choose from. I was kind of annoyed at Laura for being so disgusted with the little guys because she's got five kids, and if she can handle five kids, she can handle an 8-pound dog!
The winner of the challenge was Uli with a fabulous print halter-dress with a solid mocha jacket. I thought it was fresh and fun and her little pug dog was just too cute! Poor Katherine lost this challenge and I can't help but wonder if she would have just followed Tim Gunn's advice to add a matching hoodie to the dress that she may have still been in.
Angela is way, way out there and I really don't know why she is still in. Like Ivanka Trump said, her model looked like a street walker. I mean aren't bubble skirts on the way out already? And why was she wearing almost the exact same outfit as her model? She'd better be out in the next couple episodes. I don't want this to turn into another Kara-I-never-win (but I still slide by) kind of thing. I should also mention Vincent, who has this strange obsession with hats. I thought it was hilarious that his dog was trying furiously to get that thing off his head as he walked down the runway. I would have done the same.I still don't have a favorite designer yet this season because we haven't seen a lot from them yet. But so far I am really liking Alison (young, modern, and humble), Kayne (sassy, fashionable, and daring), and Michael (practical, hip, and wearable). All this talk of fashion makes me want to go shopping. Or better yet, start designing my own clothes! But alas, I can't even sew with a needle and thread. Guess I'll have to stick with swiping my Visa card. Oh well, carry on.
Now, I'm not usually a fan of the "reality tv"
genre, but last season I was completely hooked on Project Runway. There
were some really interesting challenges like design a barbie outfit and
design an outfit out of plants. Also, the designers had some very
colorful and entertaining personalities, which made the show all the
more delightful to watch. Tonight Season 3 begins with a new set of
designers and a not-pregnant Heidi Klum; I've got the DVR set to record
it so I don't miss anything. I don't know if this third season will
ever live up to the hilarity of last season, but I'm excited
nonetheless.
Auf Wiedersehen for now!
