Okay, so there was an altercation this morning between me and some weird creepy people that always come into our (private!) townhome community to walk their dog - off leash. Not so much a quarrel, but rather me spewing out profanities because they just sat there and didn't try to get out of my way whilst my dogs were getting tangled in their leashes and trying to attack them. Meh - anyway, I decided to kill them off Jurassic Park style in my novel. It made me feel a lot better.
As Aurora walked back to the inn, pondering the meeting she would have tonight with the rest of the clan, she quickly stopped in her tracks as she saw a rather sprawling pack of rabid minature pinschers emerge from out of the shadows run past her at full speed. They were focused on a target - a man and a woman wearing old dusty clothes and their ratty looking street dog walking just a few paces ahead of them. Aurora gasped when she saw the tiny, but fercious dogs leap onto the couple and start biting and gnashing at them. There were so many of them that they had completely smothered the pair and their dog. Aurora watched for a moment in horror as blood splattered about and the tiny dogs finished off killing their prey. When they were done, the dogs scattered and went back into hiding - leaving the couple and their dog bloody, trembling and dying in the street. It was none of Aurora's concern to try and help these people, so she lit another cigarette and continued on her way back to the inn. Before she turned away, she noticed a huge black lab walk by the writhing bodies and lift his leg to mark his territory upon them. He then trotted off merrily as his master called him to come away from the messy carnage.
Show us something dangerously cute.

Well my little dog Madeline usually acts pretty threatening (as threating as a 5 pound doggie can be) but I think once she realized I was recording her, she decided to act like a perfect angel. Don't let the act fool you though, she attacks on command.
What is your current computer desktop image? Let's see it!
As with many people, I have my pet as my desktop image -- my little girl Madeline posed for the camera. This picture makes me miss her during the day when I'm gone here at work. I need to get one with a better resolution though so that it isn't so cameraphone-grainy.
My dog Madeline (the little one) and my mom's dog Tank in a full-on
tube sock tug-o-war match. This is too hilarious. The video cut out
before a winner could be declared, but it should be known that my
little girl won in the end.
Yes, I am one of those silly people who loves their little dog. I mean, they are so cute and spunky and they are like little babies that never grow up. Well, much to my delight, last night's PR challenge was for the designers to come up with outfits for both their models and a small dog! (Because apparently dogs are a fashion accessory?) I don't normally dress up my dog, but I do put her in sweaters during the winter because she gets cold. I also like to browse the doggie clothes section at Target or the pet store just to see what I might make her wear.
So anyway, the challenge started out with Tim Gunn walking a dozen little pups into Central Park for the designers to choose from. I was kind of annoyed at Laura for being so disgusted with the little guys because she's got five kids, and if she can handle five kids, she can handle an 8-pound dog!
The winner of the challenge was Uli with a fabulous print halter-dress with a solid mocha jacket. I thought it was fresh and fun and her little pug dog was just too cute! Poor Katherine lost this challenge and I can't help but wonder if she would have just followed Tim Gunn's advice to add a matching hoodie to the dress that she may have still been in.
Angela is way, way out there and I really don't know why she is still in. Like Ivanka Trump said, her model looked like a street walker. I mean aren't bubble skirts on the way out already? And why was she wearing almost the exact same outfit as her model? She'd better be out in the next couple episodes. I don't want this to turn into another Kara-I-never-win (but I still slide by) kind of thing. I should also mention Vincent, who has this strange obsession with hats. I thought it was hilarious that his dog was trying furiously to get that thing off his head as he walked down the runway. I would have done the same.I still don't have a favorite designer yet this season because we haven't seen a lot from them yet. But so far I am really liking Alison (young, modern, and humble), Kayne (sassy, fashionable, and daring), and Michael (practical, hip, and wearable). All this talk of fashion makes me want to go shopping. Or better yet, start designing my own clothes! But alas, I can't even sew with a needle and thread. Guess I'll have to stick with swiping my Visa card. Oh well, carry on.
Rather than making my first blog post all
about me (which I'm sure you'll get plenty of in the posts to come), I
decided to introduce you my little girl--Madeline. She's the
best little guard dog ever and the best part is that I can fit her in
my pocket.
I actually kind of got lucky when I got her because dogs this small
are not usually cheap. My sister-in-law works at a vet hospital and
someone had brought Madeline in after they had found her injured out
there in the world. Apparently something attacked her and the skin on
her back was almost completely torn away from the muscle. They stitched
her up at the pet hospital but she was still incredibly underweight
(yes, she was even smaller than this). They did what they could to try
and find the owner, but when that didn't lead to anything, they started
looking for a home for her. My sister-in-law thought I'd be the perfect
small dog owner and she gave her to me for Christmas.
I kind of was like, "Um what am I going to do with this
oversized-rat, which by the way, is that a leg warmer you've put on
her?" But I took her in and got her up to a good weight, and to my
delight, once she was feeling better, she started playing fetch with
socks and being this spunky and crazy little creature. She's a fun
addition to the family and I absolutely love her.
